1. Introduction

ShawGames ("we," "us," or "our") operates the game portal at shawgames.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you visit our website.

By using ShawGames, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Data: When you register, we collect your email and username via Supabase (our auth provider). You may also add a display name and avatar.

Usage Data: We record games played, session duration, coins earned, streak activity, and leaderboard rankings to power our core features.

Automatically Collected: When you access the site, our servers and analytics tools may collect:

  • IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
  • Browser type and version, operating system, device type
  • Referring URLs and pages visited within the site
  • Date/time of access, pages viewed, time spent

Local Storage: Streak, coin balance, sound preferences, and session state are stored in your browser's localStorage and never sent to our servers unless you're logged in.

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the ShawGames service
  • Maintain leaderboards, coins, and streak tracking
  • Serve contextually relevant advertising through Google AdSense
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the platform

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

Browser localStorage stores your streak, coins, and preferences locally on your device. Clear this anytime from Profile → Browser Data, or via your browser's developer tools.

5. Third-Party Services

ShawGames integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — Authentication and database. Processes account data on our behalf.
  • Google AdSense — Advertising. May collect device identifiers and browsing data for ad targeting.
  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and performance. Processes IP addresses and request metadata.
  • Game developers — Embedded games are served from developers' CDNs and may set their own cookies and collect analytics.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

6. Third-Party Games & Embedded Content

ShawGames is a game distributor, not the developer or copyright owner of embedded games. Games are operated by their original developers and served via licensed distribution agreements.

Games embedded on ShawGames may independently collect data about your device, gameplay behavior, and interactions. This data is collected by the game developer — not ShawGames — and is subject to the developer's own privacy policy.

When you click "Play in New Tab," you navigate directly to the game developer's website, which operates entirely outside our control.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of specific games, particularly before providing any information directly to a game.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ShawGames is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete it.

Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us personal information should contact feedback@shawgames.com.

Users between 13–18 should obtain parental permission before creating an account or submitting personal information.

  • Gameplay records — while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account deletion
  • Analytics data — aggregated and anonymized after 24 months
  • Browser localStorage — stored locally; clear via Profile or browser tools
  • Server logs — retained up to 90 days for security and debugging

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. These include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Supabase row-level security policies limiting data access
  • Cloudflare DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall
  • Passwords are never stored — we use Supabase's hashed credential authentication

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
